A future in peace – not in a bunker!

As a long-standing member of the Network of the German Peace Movement, we would like to draw your attention to their postcard campaign. You can send a postcard or email to Defense Minister Pistorius asking him not to station medium-range missiles in Germany. The decision to go ahead with this madness was made at a NATO meeting without any discussion or approval by parliament.
This is undemocratic!

... and dangerous

Medium-range missiles would reduce the warning time in the event of war to less than 10 minutes. This was one of the reasons why there was a mass movement against the plans at the time in the 1980s. In contrast to today, the announcement of the deployment was linked to an offer of disarmament negotiations. Today, Russia would have no alternative but to deploy medium-range missiles as well, e.g., in Belarus.

The Network of the German Peace Movement writes: "Land-based medium-range weapons do not create security. On the contrary, they shorten the warning time, increase the risk of misjudgments and thus of escalation – in the worst case, nuclear escalation. The return of medium-range weapons to Europe must be stopped! This applies to the deployment of US medium-range weapons in Germany from 2026, announced on July 10, 2024, to the interest in purchasing Typhon launchers for European developments, which became known in July 2025, and to the announced deployment of Russian systems in Belarus!
That is why the campaign calls on Defense Minister Pistorius to take responsibility for peace and security in Europe."
