09.02.2026 Ersatz für Microsoft

Replacement for Microsoft

There is one more argument for switching from Microsoft Office to a free open source program. For those who find the free Libre Office insufficient because they want to collaborate with other people on a regular basis, there is now Collabora Office for Mac, Windows, and Linux computers.
While the previous browser-based office suite "Collabora Online" required a server and storage software such as Nextcloud, Collabora Office runs independently on your own computer outside of the browser.

Collabora Online remains a central component of the openDesk suite. This is used, for example, in the state administration of Schleswig-Holstein as a replacement for Microsoft Office. So remember: you can do without Microsoft!
