Undermine Sanctions

Two days ago, we looked at how the BRICS countries are working on a joint payment system. Now we have found another article on Telepolis that ties in with this. Using the example of aircraft construction, it describes how India and Russia are cooperating in this area and thus circumventing sanctions imposed on them by Western countries.

The first example shows that it is possible to circumvent sanctions imposed by the US dollar, and the second shows that the contracting parties can still do good business. Telepolis notes that over 90 percent of bilateral trade is now conducted in local currencies, bypassing the dollar. Sanctions lose their character as a reliable instrument of coercion when the countries affected have alternative industrial and payment architectures at their disposal.
