Conformity or Compliance ReformFor no apparent reason, ZDF is adopting President Trump’s ideas about “free reporting.” As Telepolis writes in the article linked below: Anyone who wants to work for the Mainz-based broadcaster in the future must agree not to collaborate with individuals who appear on various global sanctions and terrorism lists. The article goes on to state: As the Süddeutsche Zeitung initially reported, internal contract clauses require employees and external guests to choose between working with ZDF and maintaining existing contacts with sanctioned individuals. If contacts with sanctioned individuals exist, a contractual relationship with ZDF would be impossible. This would mean that foreign governments — or, more precisely, Trump — would now decide what can be said in our media and who is even allowed to be interviewed.
