The world's worst company

This is how eko.org describes the business dealings of far-right billionaire Peter Thiel, who is currently in the process of selling his surveillance software Palantir to state police agencies. Switzerland has just rejected Palantir out of fear of a catastrophic security breach, yet our politicians continue to keep the door open for the company, writes eko.org, adding:

Our governments are handing Palantir our most intimate information on a silver platter. In this way, its AI services are being deeply embedded in our democracies to create a world in which an AI — and not a human — decides who poses a threat.
Palantir — the tech giant backed by Trump’s billionaire friend Peter Thiel — has just released a 22-point manifesto that is causing outrage online. It calls for AI to decide who dies in war. Entire cultures are declared inferior. And the founder argues that freedom is “no longer compatible” with the modern world. And yet governments hand over our data to Palantir — whether we like it or not.

Medical records. Nuclear documents. Intelligence infrastructure. They want to quietly hand all of this over to a company whose founder has declared war on democracy. Switzerland had to scrap its plans with Palantir because the latest security check proved that the company cannot be prevented from accessing top-secret data. In the UK, there is also massive pushback right now. People and experts everywhere are speaking out against Palantir — this is our chance to block Palantir worldwide. Let’s join forces to put pressure on dangerous Big Tech: NO to Palantir. NO to Peter Thiel.

We have already reported on Palantir several times and can only urge you to sign the petition — and ideally also send your own letters to your representatives. We don’t need more surveillance, and certainly not one that hands our data over to the U.S.
