Workshop for Safer Internet Day 2011

As part of our education program, we once again held a workshop this year for Safer Internet Day on February 8. a workshop in the anti war Café COOP .
The workshop focused on the dangers of the internet and ways to avoid them. To this end, after a joint review and classification of potential problems, guidance was provided on encryption using GnuPG and OpenSSL (particularly for email communication). For anonymous browsing, the use of Tor and JonDo proxies was introduced, and the risks associated with them were discussed.

Ich würde noch folgendes erwähnen:

Jeder Browser hinterlässt einen Fingerabdruck, siehe dazu auch

Die wichtigsten Tipps dazu:
- Plugins so weit wie möglich deaktivieren
- Referrer deaktivieren
- GeoLocation-Dienste deaktivieren
- UserAgent löschen oder überschreiben
- nicht Google Chrome benutzen
- Adblocker nutzen, z.B. AdBlock Plus für Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/, das nebenbei auch noch das laden von Seiten beschleunigt
- Für Firefox-Nutzer: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/privacysuite/

Never ever trust ISP supplied equipment (e.g. router, firewall, STBs), always consider such devices as hostile and position them in your network architecture accordingly i.e. in the Militarized Zone (MZ)

Disable all protocols that you don't use or don't understand, especially TR-069 and any other Remote Management features, these are all part of the surveillance control system (e.g. BTAgent firmware update)
