7700 deaths - but cars will be cheaper

Although, according to data from the climate agency NOAA, climate change in the last 10 years has caused damage equivalent to around €1.6 trillion in the US due to extreme weather events such as fires and floods, claiming the lives of more than 7,700 people, President Trump has overturned the environmental agency's 2009 classification that CO2 emissions endanger people and the common good. So now, with every new temperature record, every flood, every fire, the number of deaths and the cost of damage will rise even faster.

According to him, the "greatest deregulation in history" will save companies and consumers around 1.2 trillion euros. Anyone who does the math on this naive calculation and believes the numbers is already making a loss of 400 billion euros (without further climate change)...

The fact is that with the abolition of the scientific finding that greenhouse gases pose a threat to public health and human welfare, the legal basis for many environmental standards in the US will disappear. Firstly, this will result in countless additional legal disputes keeping the courts busy for years to come and, secondly, it will ensure that the US remains the largest emitter of greenhouse gases, with an average of 14 tons of CO2 per person. In addition, other countries' efforts to implement climate protection measures will be reduced. In India, for example, cities with millions of inhabitants are suffocating in smog every winter, with particulate matter costing hundreds of thousands of lives, writes the Frankfurter Rundschau.
