My NO to Conscription
We have presented over 100 photos of actions against the Bundeswehr’s “career counselors” at schools, universities, the YOU festival, and other events for young people on our website, but nothing symbolizes the desire to let young people grow up without the Bundeswehr better than the icon of the Berlin "School Without the Military" working group.
Now the Bundeswehr not only wants to promote its deadly trade but is also writing to all young people urging them to join. In response, the Peace Cooperative Network — which includes Aktion Freiheit statt Angst e.V. — has devised a campaign. On their website linked below, anyone can send a postcard to members of the Bundestag demanding:
- No reinstatement of the draft!
- Stop the Bundeswehr from recruiting minors!
- Unreservedly recognize the human right to conscientious objection!
- Promote peace education in schools!
The postcards will then be sent to the Bundestag by the Friedenskooperative network next week on May 15, International Conscientious Objection Day. Join us!
