No Kings

Two and a half weeks before the midterms — the midterm elections in the U.S. — many U.S. citizens once again took part in the “No Kings” demonstrations across the country. That’s because on November 4, it will be decided who will hold the majority in Congress and the Senate. That’s also why President Trump is reacting nervously to the demonstrations. In the Senate, his four-vote majority is at stake; according to most polls, he has already lost his current majority in the House of Representatives. If he loses in both chambers, he will become a “lame duck” during the second half of his term.

The temporary suspension of the “No Kings” movement's Instagram account around 1:30 p.m. yesterday sparked outrage among protesters. It had been deactivated without explanation, but the account was accessible again around 3:03 p.m. The protesters accused Meta and the Trump administration of trying to suppress their protests, according to zdfheute.de.

The necessity of firing his new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, after only five days on the job also did nothing to boost Trump’s reputation. She was informed of her dismissal by Deputy Vance when she was just about to talk about her career in an interview.
