Europe is next on Trump’s list

In their letter to welcome the New Year WeMove Europe wrote us yesterday:
EU leaders are making a lot of concessions to Trump to “keep him happy”. From accepting wild trade deals that hurt our wallet. To relying on dirty gas while the US profits. To giving up protections for our data. When what we really need is for them to stand strong and hold the line.

This is what our community is for. Reminding our governments who they really answer to: their citizens. But to do this and push them to stand up to Trump in 2026, we need resources.

Trump’s American dream is our worst nightmare. Armed troops intimidate peaceful protesters. Masked agents raid migrant communities. Billionaires get huge tax cuts while everyday people struggle.

And now this nightmare is crossing the ocean. Trump is trying to bully Europe into doing what he wants - buying his dirty gas, signing unfair trade deals, and giving his tech billionaire friends a free pass when they break our rules. And our leaders are giving in - all too eager to throw protections for our rights and our planet under the bus.

But our community doesn’t answer to Trump. And when our leaders cower or cosy up to tyrants, it’s up to people like us to stand together and hold the line.

We already stopped EU Ministers from weakening our climate rules under pressure from Trump. But as he ramps up his threats against Europe, we urgently need your help. Stay with us in 2026,
